Where have I been...Hurricane Rita

We had to evacuate Lake Charles Just over three weeks ago and were just allowed back in as of the Oct 7th. We are living right now with no telephone and just got back internet service. The place we evacuated to was just 60 mile north and also lost telephone and electricity. I was able to make it back to LC on the Oct 3rd but had no electric, water, telephone (land line) or water (water well) for three days. Until yesterday Oct 10th we had no internet either. Podcast will be out this saturday October 15th with some important lessons I have learned. It will be a faith builder. Thanks to all who have hung in their and have been checking in on us. Side comments not on the podcast

The comments about needing the Messiah come from knowing several people over the years who have had terrible sickness in their life. Some were rich and some were poor. Still money did not matter in these circumstances. Only those with Jesus seemed to have a real hope. Now I know that some people seem to do OK without Jesus but we need to consider their end. That is what the Pslamist did when he saw the unrighteous prospering...he considered their end.

I've been friends to people over the years that battled with drug addictions.

Some have won the battle and are making every effort to remain faithful to God.

Some have lost the battle and are now in the grave. And It saddens me when I think of those who have lost their life over a pill. It makes me question if I did enough to help them. All I know now is that I must keep pressing on toward the mark...to the high calling of God. No not that I feel I am called to be a preacher but that I am called to be a member of the church, a Christian looking for ways to inspire others to find Jesus.
